How to smile through a crisis

Sometimes life gets you down. You hit a rough patch and it seems like the darkness is closing in. Sometimes you can weather the storm, sometimes you need a little help.

We all handle stress differently and we approach a crisis in our own unique ways. But one way that is almost guaranteed to lift you up when you need it the most, is to smile.

You might not feel like it, but force your mouth to turn up at the sides. Research has shown you can trick your brain into thinking you’re happy, by going through the physical motions of appearing happy.
