We caught up with Louise Walsh, Specialist dermatology and cosmetic nurse at sk:n Ealing Broadway

What is your name, occupation and professional background?

My name is Louise Walsh, and I am a specialist dermatology and cosmetic nurse.  I have over 10 years’ experience in the medical field, and over 30 years of passion for skin health!

Tell us about the treatments you perform at sk:n, and what your favourite one is to give to clients and why?

I perform mostly anti-wrinkle injections and dermal filler procedures.  I also offer some medical strength skin rejuvenation treatments.  My favourite treatment to give is anti-ageing injectables because I can achieve great natural looking results in minimal time.

What inspired you to go into this line of work?

I’ve always loved everything skin related; from wounds as a student nurse and skincare when I was a teenager, to now helping people age beautifully and slow down the signs of ageing.

What’s your favourite thing about your job?

I love the positivity that I can help my clients achieve. The difference I can make to client’s confidence and happiness is very rewarding.  When people are happy with their skin, they tend to feel so much better.

What is your daily skin routine?

Every morning I simply cleanse my skin, then apply a topical antioxidant and SPF 50.  In the evenings I use an active product to encourage cell renewal and serum for hydration.

What is the best piece of advice you can give to someone for good skincare?

Don’t leave home without wearing a SPF (Minimum 30/50) on your face, all year round.

How could you describe the procedure of what you to do to anybody who hasn’t had it done before, and is considering it?

A consultation is required to advise which treatment would be appropriate and achievable before any procedure.  All options and procedures are fully discussed in depth before-hand and clients are given time to go away and think about everything before they go ahead with a procedure.

With any procedure you may be considering its important you choose a reputable clinic and practitioner you can trust – sk:n are governed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and follow strict medical protocols across all of their treatments.

What is your favourite thing about working in the area of Ealing?

There’s so much going on in-and-around Ealing! sk:n team and I enjoy meeting a wide range of people from Ealing and the surrounding area and it’s great to have the opportunity to share our skin knowledge and expertise and above all help improve clients confidence.
