Eat your way to a better mental health

A report just published has suggested that not only will eating lots of fruit and veg be great for our physical health, but it will provide a significant boost to our mental well being too.

The Australian study found substantial improvements to mental health after consuming fruit and vegetables.

Further research uncovered that increased consumption of fruit and veg were linked to ‘self-reported mental well-being and life satisfaction in data that spans a five-year period’.

The work suggests that eating just one extra piece of fruit or veg per day is the equivalent for our mental health as going for an extra walk, seven or eight times per month.
