Which is better: agave nectar or coconut sugar?

Agave nectar took the health world by storm a few years ago, touted as a healthy, naturally low glycemic sweetener, it was believed to be good for those who struggled with blood sugar levels. But research has since shown it to be nothing more than another highly processed sweetener, with no more redeeming features than the white stuff itself.

Coconut sugar on the other hand, the darling sweetener preferred by the likes of Deliciously Ella, is truly a natural, low glycemic alternative to sugar. Made from the sap of the coconut palm, this highly sustainable sweetener is not high in fructose like agave nectar, and doesn’t contribute to fat tissue storage.
