Teaching your child the value of sharing

Teaching your child to share is essentially teaching them to be kind. Learning to share can be tough for young children, but it is an essential skill they must master if they want to make and keep friends.

Most children learn they learn from their parents, so set good examples.

  1. They might not understand the concept of sharing at first, so point out when someone shares.
  2. Give praise when you see them sharing.
  3. Play games with your children that encourage sharing and turn taking.
  4. Let them know that they don’t have to share everything, some toys are just for them, and that’s ok too.
